Happy 31st Birthday to Daddy & Ed by Rose

@ Edinburgh, Scotland

Well today Ed hit the big 31 (or 28 as he would have everyone believe!)

I think he’s had a nice birthday - I treated him to bacon rolls from the roll shop for breakfast (ok he paid, but I drove!) and a lovely Thai meal at lunch time (again, he paid, I drove!). He had a case of Magners from our work with a card and a caterpillar birthday cake, and Jack and I had made Ed a pirate ship cake over the last few days.

Ed had to get up a little bit quicker than anticipated this morning, as I was putting Ed’s presents out in the livingroom Jack was opening them! So he can open presents now, quite quickly too!

Anyway - Ed’s birthday present was an Electric Guitar. Random I know, but he has always wanted to learn to play one and last year we didn’t have any money so I couldn’t get him it and was determined to go for it this year. I got my friend to help me out as her husband plays in a band and teaches Electric Guitar (but they live in Leeds unfortunately) so he recommended the learner guitar (in black, didn’t think he would appreciate pink!) which comes with an amp, stand, plectrum, electric tuner, stand, strap, case and all important beginners DVD. And Jack got a mini version so that he could play too.

We had intentions of a pirate birthday tea, but as Jack had double lunch and dinner at nursery today and we had ate out for lunch, no-one was really hungry so we settled for cake and a cup of tea when Grandma and Grandad popped in to visit.
