He can draw people! by Rose

@ Upper Cockenzie

Jack that is, Toby hasn’t quite mastered drawing yet!

Today Jack had some fun drawing on the drive with his chalk. He really enjoys doing it, last week we were drawing pretend roads so that he could drive his car around them and today he was drawing people. I am presuming he has copied someone at nursery as he doesn’t tend to be interested at home unless we make it a project for someone, but I think they are really good considering on Sunday he wouldn’t even attempt a cross in Ed’s Father’s Day card.

I haven’t had the opportunity to blog recently, it’s just been hectic here once again. With the nights being dry and nice we have been trying to get things done in the garden, the front is now finished bar a tree/bush of some sort we want to put at the side (I am worried about roots and it being next to the house) and the back garden is still work in progress — the lawn is just far too big and takes about 2 hours once a week to get done not including attempting to get the edges done. Its a big, big job and we just don’t use it all, so we are trying to think of other things to do with it especially at the side of the house.

Jack has been showing off his musical talent the last few days as well. He started to sing along to songs on the radio a while ago, but now he is singing them independently of the radio and demanding the songs whenever I get in the car or switch on the kitchen radio. This morning he was singing a medeley of his favourite songs, a combination of Play your Guitar with Murray from The Wiggles, then into Heartbreaker (singing I’m a Heartbreaker, Jack’s a heartbreaker, yes I am) and finally launching into This is an emergency with his guitar being swung around. I really need to film it as its really funny to watch.

Fortunately, Toby thinks this is the funniest thing ever. Put him in his door bouncer between the kitchen and playroom and he’s happy — he watches Jack playing his guitar and joins in with the music and then spins around to watch whatever I am doing. I took some film of him giggling along to Jack singing Lights, Camera, Action last week and it’s really good, Toby is laughing his little head off at his brother dancing and singing.

We don’t have long now until Jack breaks up for the summer, his holiday is starting earlier than the schools and his last day is next Tuesday, which is a Teddy Bear’s Picnic that everyone is invited to. Jack has been trying to arrange some playdates for the summer by asking every child he meets “do you want to come and play on my trampoline in the summer?”.

I’ve just uploaded the pictures I have of the boys, it’s late and I really want to read my book before bed sorry!
