Toby in the Tummy Tub by Ed & Rose & Toby

@ Prestonpans

Last night was Toby’s second try in the tummy tub (we did try it when he first came home but decided he was too little to comfortably and safely hold him in there). This time it was a fantastic success!

And now just some picures of Toby’s time in the tummy tub:

Ed and I had a chat about his belly button last night — it is sticking out about 1.5cm and although it doesn’t seem to bother him, it just doesn’t look right. I did a little bit of investigating online last night and my Health Visitor confirmed that its most likely that over the phone this morning — it looks like Toby has an Umbilical Hernia. If you look in the picture below you can see how much his belly button sticks out.

Toby and I have our 6 week check on Wednesday and the Health Visitor wants us to wait until then to see the doctor unless it starts to bother him — the usual course of action is to just keep an eye on it and if its not rectified itself by his first birthday he will probably need a small operation.
