The Boys Berkeley Memorial Day Out by Ed & Jack & Toby & Noah

@ Berkeley

The boys headed out for the Memorial Day Holiday to give Mum some well earned peace and quiet. We decided on something leisurely as Noah wasn't feeling great so settled on a nice short nature walk at Tilden Regional Park. We chose about a mile or so round Jewel Lake where we would hopefully see lots of wildlife and adventure.

Dad took the wrong turn off the freeway so we ended up going through Berkeley itself, up into the hills and through the Cal Campus (University of California). We saw all the Frat houses but nothing interesting was happening unfortunately.

As a result of this wrong turn we ended up finding a cracking wee place called Codornices Park with lots to do. Basketball court, grass area, tennis court, tunnel, playpark and the main attraction, a concrete slide built into the side of the hill. Suffice to say, that was us for the next 30 minutes!

The boys found a spooky noisy tunnel they could scream, echo and run in!

Upon closer inspection (counting) we were able to establish that the tree is indeed younger than Daddy!

We then stumbled across Little Farm on our way out of the trail. Its a great little farm in the park for kids to see animals up close and learn something. We saw cows, goats, rabbits, chickens, a rooster, sheep (being sheared) and turkeys.

A chicken pooped on the man when he was holding it so we could stroke it. We got to stroke a chicken, a cow and goats.

One last stop before we headed home was at a cool little playpark with lots of rocks to climb.
